What was your favorite experience of the internship?

“I really enjoyed everything, but my favorite part was getting to know everyone throughout the process. I’ve heard many inspiring stories and felt as this was a meaningful experience.”
Fall Intern 2020
“I feel like this internship did a great job of helping me feel prepared on how working would actually look like. I was excited to log on every morning and I really liked how we knew the processes going on behind the scenes and in which ways we were contributing.”
Summer Intern 2021
“Making connections and learning more about the brain”
Summer Intern 2020
“My favorite experience of this internship has to be either the morning question because it made things so informal and we learned a lot about each other or the seminars, I absolutely loved them!”
Summer Intern 2021
“My favorite experience was probably labeling the hippocampus itself because when I first saw you do it, I thought there’s no way I’d actually be able to do it too.” – Summer Intern 2020

Summer Intern 2020
“The mentorship was really fun. My favorite part was getting to know my mentor and looking forward to talking with them every week! I’ve made so much more connections and did all of that during a pandemic.”
Fall Intern 2020
“Learning a lot of new things, especially when Mr. Cordero came to talk to us about finance. Also, having a mentor to always come back to when I need help for anything..”

What was the most significant information/guidance that you received from your mentor?

“She helped me divide up my work so it was easier for me to do because when i see how much homework I have I get overwhelmed”
Summer Intern 2021
“My mentor and I connected on so many levels, it was amazing! I feel that we both are so similar it was easy to relate to how we work in various topics and aspects. She gave me really helpful tips on dual enrollment and was willing to help me research the questions she did not know the answers to. She gave me loads of clarity about my future academic career.”
Summer Intern 2021
“Honestly they gave such a nice headstart and boost with my college essay and resume, I felt that I wouldn’t work on it this early on if it wasn’t for this mentorship. I was also able to meet someone new that had many similarities as me and It felt more comfortable sharing personal stuff and turn it into a great outline for the personal statement.”
Summer Intern 2021
“Always be willing to try something new, even if it may be uncomfortable because other people feel the same way I do.”
Summer Intern 2021
“The most significant guidance that I received from my mentor was about organizing my extracurriculars on the common app and how to rank them in order.”
Summer Intern 2021
“The study habits session was something that I really needed and the advice on how to be more organized and plan ahead really resonated. Especially when it came to applying habits now in preparation for college.”
– Summer Intern 2021
” One of the mentors I met really sat me down and explained how perfection is not obtainable no matter how much I may work. I think this opened my eyes, because I would often get stressed on my grades, amount of awards I have, leadership roles, and even prestige from colleges. He really helped me understand that success is not based on achievement.”
Summer Intern 2021

What were some of your favorite MBK sessions?

“I really enjoyed learning about the financial gaps in Boston alone, it really opened my eyes because it was so large. Ever since I learned this fact, I’ve been pondering about ways to close this gap and the reasonings behind why the gap is so large amongst racial groups.”
Summer Intern 2021
“I don’t have a favorite session in specific, I feel like they were all very uplifting and cool! I loved how the internship offered these sessions too because it speaks volume of how much social justice issues are valued in this program.”
Summer Intern 2021
“My favorite session was definitely the networking one. I took away that just meeting new people can open up a LOT more opportunities for me that I didn’t even know would be possible.”
– Fall Intern 2020
“The Goals session, my biggest takeaway was that I should focus on myself more and be positive and realistic about my future”
– Summer Intern 2020
“I liked the goal setting session, because it really showed me how I can accomplish my goals.”
